About Miss Alvord

I grew up in Oregon from the sleepy little town of Lincoln City on the Oregon Coast. I received my Bachelors in Education from Oregon State University and my Masters from Concordia University Chicago. I also have an ESL Endorsement from National Louis University. I am on my 9th year of teaching and my 5th year of teaching 2nd grade. I am a new mom and welcomed my little girl to the world November 2nd, 2018.

Homework

RISE Reading homework is sent home every Monday and due every Friday. I send Math homework once a week on Wednesdays. Please also continue to be on the lookout for important flyers that get sent from myself and the school.

A Few Guidelines…

Please remind your students no toys are allowed in school (unless we vote on a toy party). If the student is caught playing with a toy, I will have to take it away. They can get it back with a note from you or you are welcome to personally come pick it up. Students may bring water bottles to school as long as they have a cap.

Important!

Back to School Night is Tuesday August 13th from 5:30-6:30. I look forward to meeting you then! Please be ready to sign up for a time to come back so we can have SEP conferences the week of the 19th-23rd.

PE will be on Thursdays so please make sure your student comes to school with comfortable shoes to wear that day.
