1. Safe Routes to School
Safe Routes Update Updated and sent to the State for review Request to increase crossing guard time is under City review Sidewalk project on the north side of the building Request has been sent to facilities for a timeline estimate Finance Discussion Start the discussion of how we want to use our funds for next school year
Action Plan—Eric suggested an item that he saw presented at a conference to encourage walking to school: an incentive that schools let “walker” status students exit the building 5 minutes before the rest of the school. Senthia suggested we bring the idea to faculty, and Principal Wolfe agreed to put it on the next faculty meeting agenda.
Parking Lot Idea: Allow passage for pick-up on the blacktop of the playground.
Concern shared: cars parked at the north door causing traffic flow problems.
Clint offered to take down the sign that says “loading zone” sign (on the fence).
Senthia suggested to hand out flyers as drivers pull up…
Safety survey/evaluation by District Safety specialist (ask Lauren for suggestions).
*****5-minute early leave (Kindergarten) – will that affect the minutes required for Kindergarten?
Test out the new entry/exit pickup spots—(blacktop for kindergarten pickup)
Possible use of
Continually reminding parents to not check out students at the end of the day (10-15 minutes before).
2. Dixon land site – possible use – building a new Timpanogos Elementary. Please contact any school board members – their contact information can be found here:

3. STRATEGIC PLAN – LeeAnn Parker provided copies of the District’s “Strategic Plan 2024-2029”, which gives focus to the district’s goals for the next five years. A link to the document can be found on the district website. https://provo.edu
4. STEM Fair – Parent input was favorable. A STEM Fair will be sponsored by Timpanogos Elementary. Students in Grades 5-6 are invited to submit a STEM Fair project/display. Projects will be judged on Friday, February 7. More information to come soon.
5. Centhia Ogletree made a suggestion that a Standing Zoom link for School Community Council be posted on each coming month’s agenda announcement. LeeAnn Parker agreed to post one with each School Community Council post.
